Stefan Hubenov


Stefan Nikolaev Hubenov was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Stefan graduated from Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance Art (NSMDA) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2019 with honors. Now he is a senior at the National Music Academy "Professor Pancho Vladigerov" (NMA) in Sofia, Bulgaria, and in his second year at Michigan State University pursuing a Performance diploma in violin class under professor Dmitry Berlinsky. In Bulgaria, Stefan studied with Darina Dankova, Eugenia Nocheva, Elisaveta Kazakova, Gancho Ganev, and Joseph Radionov.   

He has been awarded in many competitions, among which: National Competition "Svetoslav Obrethanov" – Provadia – First Prize and Special Award from Provadia Municipality; International Competition for Violinists "Nedyalka Simeonova" – First Prize; "Dobrin Petkov" International competition for young performers of orchestral instruments in Plovdiv – Grand Prix, Special Award by the Chairman of the Jury, and the Audience Award.

Stefan was a soloist of the NSMDA Symphony Orchestra, violin soloist for the City of Plovdiv Orchestra, “Pioneer“ National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and Symphony orchestra in “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov.’’
