Courtney Bonifant


Courtney Bonifant enjoys an active career as both a performer and an educator. She is a section violist with the Jackson, Lansing, and Midland Symphony Orchestras, and has performed as a substitute violist with the Ann Arbor and Flint Symphony Orchestras in Michigan; the Akron Symphony Orchestra in Ohio; and the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra in Pennsylvania. An avid chamber musician, Courtney appears throughout Southeast Michigan and Northeast Ohio in string duos, trios, and quartets, performing for a variety of events.
Courtney is a registered Suzuki violin and viola teacher, and is a faculty member of the Ann Arbor Suzuki Institute. In addition to her private studio in Ann Arbor, Courtney has led viola sectionals and coached chamber music at several Ann Arbor public schools, including both Huron and Pioneer High Schools.

Courtney holds a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Lynne Ramsey, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with John Graham and Carol Rodland.
