The LSO has been introducing orchestral music to young listeners for over 60 years. On March 31, 2010, fourth through sixth graders will fill the Wharton Center’s Great Hall and learn about the instruments of the orchestra through a narrated concert. This year we will present highlights from Holst's The Planets, in collaboration with Barbara Banasikowski Smith and The Greater Lansing Ballet Company. Admission is FREE! Performances will run approximately 45 minutes.

Partnership Programs
Our partnership programs involve at least a year-long commitment made between a school or organization and the LSO to bring music programming to young students. We offer musical activities and performances that have the potential to reach hundreds of students throughout the year. Benefits also include free or discounted concert tickets for students and their families, faculty, and staff.
Music in Our Schools
The Music In Our Schools program brings LSO musicians, both solo performers and ensembles, into classrooms. Students are given opportunities to experience live music in their own setting, interact with professional musicians, and learn about instruments, music making, and composers. Download Brochure
