Elementary Students Sound Off on Symphony Program
After the LSO sent a Woodwind Trio to Lansing's North Elementary, we received a batch of letters from children who attended the program. Their reactions to the performance reflect how crucial music is to a child's education. Here are some highlights:
"You play so good you should be on T.V."
"It was the most relaxing music I've heard since I was a baby."
"Thanks for coming to North. We learned new things and heard some down right sweet music."
"In the future I hope to play the flute because my mom wants me to."
"You showed us how important music is to you."
"I really liked the flute beause I used to play it and I think I should get back in it because it sounds good with a band."
"I like when you didn't get tired."
"I really want you to come back again."
"I would like to be like you three when I get older."
"The woodwind trio was the best group of my life."
"I liked when you were doing the story you did the noises of the animals and people and all that. I hope you can do it next year. You rock!"
"I liked when that lady did the thing with the straw and she cut it and made it sound all crazy."
"My favorite part was when that lady that was playing the bassoon sang Barney."
"The best part of the story you told was at the end when you said, 'That's all folks!' That really made the story stand out, and made me giggle."
"After your performance, I wanted to sprint all the way home and begin playing my violin."
"I think to me you all get 100%. I hope I might play as well as all of you."
"At the beginning, you three looked nervous. But that's okay because I get nervous too."
"You ladies had it going on, but the bassoon was jammin."
