Side-by-Side Performance

Holiday Pops - Sunday, December 11, 2011

Instrumentalists in grades 9 through 12 are invited to audition for an opportunity to rehearse and perform Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra at the annual Holiday Pops concert. Students will be asked to play excerpts from the following movements of the Nutcracker Suite: March, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Trepak (Russian Dance), Arabian Dance, Chinese Dance, Dance of the Mirlitons, Waltz of the Flowers.

Bowings, cuts, etc. will be provided to the winners for the performance.

Winners must be available for all of the following:

Saturday, December 10th – 10:00am-12:00pm (Student Rehearsal – East Lansing HS, East Lansing)
Sunday, December 11th – 10:00am-12:30pm (Rehearsal w/ Orchestra – Wharton Center)
Sunday, December 11th – 3:00pm-5:00pm (Performance – Wharton Center)

Winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the performance.
